Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for accurately processing invoices and payments while maintaining organized financial records. This role supports the accounting department by ensuring vendor invoices are processed timely and company payment obligations are met.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents when applicable
  • Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
  • Assist with weekly check runs
  • Maintain accounts payable files and supporting documentation
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Reconcile vendor statements and assist with account reconciliations
  • Ensure invoices are properly approved prior to payment
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and update information as needed
  • Assist with month-end accounting activities
  • Perform general administrative and accounting support duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of accounts payable, accounting, or administrative experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
